Riverside, CA--Emily Waldron's match-high 14 kills wasn't enough as Idaho State dropped a 3-0 (27-30, 25-30, 25-30) decision to undefeated Army Friday morning at the PE Gymnasium.
The loss drops Idaho State to 2-6 on the season while Army improves to a perfect 8-0.
Waldron led the Idaho State effort with 14 kills on 35 attacks with only one error. Waldron connected on a .371 hitting mark in the match. Charlee Kinghorn was just one kill shy of double digits with nine, while Jessica Gurney registered eight kills and Sarah Carson added seven.
Christine Van Orden led the ISU offense with 34 assists and Katie Edgson fronted the Bengal defense with 16 digs. Van Orden also notched six kills on the day.
Idaho State recorded a .264 attack percentage in the match with 46 kills on 110 attacks and 16 errors. Army registered a .316 hitting mark with 51 kills on 114 attacks with 15 errors.
Idaho State will continue play at the UC Riverside Tournament on Saturday at 11 a.m. against host UC Riverside. The Bengals will also take on Robert Morris on Saturday at 2 p.m.
