Natalie Doma and the Bengals Smoke the Montana Grizzlies from the Free Throw Line in 90-77 Win at Reed Gym

Pocatello, ID --- In a game delayed by a fire alarm, it was the Idaho State Bengals that put out the flames that was a ten game winning streak for Montana by beating the Grizzlies 90-77 at Reed Gym Thursday. National player of the year candidate Natalie Doma was burning down the nets at the free throw line where she went a school record 16-16. It was the most free throws made in a game without a miss in school history. It was also the greatest single game free throw shooting percentage in the country this season. Idaho State improved to 11-5 overall and 3-1 in conference. Montana left Pocatello at 13-4 overall and 3-1 in the Big Sky.

Doma finished with 30 points in the game and she also grabbed 11 rebounds. Andrea Lightfoot was hot from beyond the arc going 6-9 from deep. The six three-pointers were a season high for her. She scored 22 points. Devin Diehl had her best game of the season tying career-highs in points with 16 and assists with six.

Foul trouble singed the Grizzlies. Both Johanna Closson and Britney Lohman fouled out of the game and Mandy Morales fought foul trouble for most of the game. Morales finished the game with a team high 22 points. Montana's 28 fouls helped the Bengals shoot a season-high 36 free throw attempts. The Bengals showed why they entered the game as the number one free throw shooting team in the nation. Idaho State shot 94 percent from the line, going 34-36. It is their best single game percentage since going 15-15 against Wyoming in the season opener.

The Bengals will now get ready to host Montana State on Saturday. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:05 pm.

Notes: Andrea Lightfoot (1,332) passed Alison Verona (1,320) to become the fourth leading scorer in ISU history.... Lightfoot (426) passed Sarah Ranes (421) for tenth on the ISU's all-time field goals made list... Lightfoot played all 40 minutes for the first time this season... The 1,625 in attendance made for the highest home crowd of the season.
