Final Stats
Flagstaff, AZ --- The Idaho State Bengals can't hang on to a 21-point first half lead and fall to Northern Arizona 82-67 in Flagstaff. The loss put a damper on Natalie Doma becoming Idaho State's all-time leading scorer, regardless of gender. She needed just one point to pass Les Roh. She finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds. The Bengals (12-6, 4-2 BSC) haven't won at Northern Arizona (6-13, 2-4 BSC) since 2004.
The first half started well for the Bengals. Doma set the scoring record 3:11 into the game with a layup. Then Idaho State had built a 33-12 lead with 5:10 remaining in the first half. Then the Lumberjacks stormed back and chopped down the Bengal lead by going on a 25-3 run that consisted of the rest of the first half to 2:46 into the second half to take a 37-36 lead. The game was close for awhile with the game tied at 57-57 with 7:44 remaining. But Northern Arizona went on another big burst, closing the game with a 25-10 run.
Kaylynn Fager tied a season high with four field goals made, all of them from beyond the arc for 12 points. Andrea Lightfoot was the only other Bengal in double figures with 11 points. Idaho State shot 34.5 percent from the field and went 9-31 from three-point land.
Sadie Cunningham had a well rounded game for Northern Arizona scoring 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals. Laura Dinkins recorded a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.
The Bengals will try to get the road split by picking up a win against Sacramento State on Saturday. Tip off is set for 2:05 pm (MST).
