Natalie Doma and Andrea Lightfoot Combine for 61 Points as Bengals Sting Sacramento State 90-73

Sacramento, CA --- The Idaho State Bengals got season-high scoring efforts from both Natalie Doma and Andrea Lightfoot in the Bengals wire-to-wire victory over Sacramento State 90-73 Saturday afternoon. National player of the year candidate Natalie Doma scored 34 points and Lightfoot put in 27 points. Doma reached another milestone, becoming the first Big Sky women's player to enter the 2,000 point-1,000 rebound club. The only other Big Sky player to do it was Montana's Larry Krystkowiak. Idaho State (13-6, 5-2 BSC) improves to a perfect 23-0 all-time against Sacramento State (4-15, 2-5 BSC).

The Bengals scored first with a Doma jumper 32 seconds into the game. Idaho State would never trail in the game. Sacramento State forced the games only tie at 13-13 at 15:44 remaining in the first half. The Bengals responded with a 7-0 run started by a Jenna Brown three-pointer. ISU led by five at the half.

With 14:17 remaining in the game, the Bengals held a four point lead at 64-60. Michelle Grohs scored a three-point play the old-fashioned way, hitting a layup and a foul shot after. That sparked a 10-0 run in which Grohs scored five of her eight points. Sacramento State trailed by double-digits for the rest of the game.

Along with a season-high in points, Lightfoot also set a season-high with nine field goals. Doma set a new career-high with her 15 field goals. She also had a season high three assists. Devin Diehl tied a career-high with three steals and Andrea Videbeck grabbed a career-high tying three rebounds.

Atty Boyer led the Hornets with 15 points and Emily Christensen provided 12 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento State.

The Bengals will now get a bit of a breather the next couple of weeks when they will have just one game a week. They will be in Ogden, Utah to face the Weber State Wildcats on February 1st. Next they will go to Northern Colorado on February 9th for their only game of that week.

NOTES: Idaho State shot a season high 58.6 percent from the floor... Natalie Doma (759) passed Lidya Barbanova (754) for third on the Big Sky career field goals made list... For the first time this season, Idaho State got the same number of rebounds as their opponent... ISU improved to 4-3 in day games.
