Greeley, CO--Idaho State dropped a 6-2 decision to Northern Colorado at Jackson Stadium Friday night. Though Northern Colorado (1-2-0 BSC) gained its first Big Sky victory, junior Annamarie Hofstetter made history in the match up as she assisted on the first goal of the game for ISU (0-2-1 BSC) giving her the most career assists in Idaho State history with 19 at the 8:46 mark.

Northern Colorado opened play when Olivia Deadmond as she made a clean pass to Ariel Cook who took a shot on an open goal at the 6:27 mark to score the first goal of the game. Idaho State immediately answered back as midfielder Hofstetter used a free kick to pass to senior Kilee Quigley netting the goal at 8:46. The goal gave Quigley her first of the season and Hofstetter her 19th assist of her career making Hofstetter the All-Time Career Assists leader in Idaho State history and tying her for second in career assists in Big Sky Conference history.

Northern Colorado recorded five goals in the first period alone. Idaho State scored a goal in each period. Both teams posted 11 shots while the Bears posted eight on goal and the Bengals recorded five. Six of Northern Colorado's on goal shots found the back of the net with four being unassisted. Sydney VanderVelde posted the first unassisted goal of the game off the post at 19:19, followed by Jessica Zimmerman who was standing at the right place, at the right time, when a shot was deflected by an ISU defender.

Zimmerman then recorded an assist when UNC's Teresa Prais scored a goal at the 33:29 mark off a corner kick. Kimmie Fiedler would record Northern Colorado's final two goals, both unassisted, making her the lead point scorer for the match with four. Fiedler's first goal of the game came from a shot 20 yards off the net with 37:03 on the clock. Her second goal was UNC's only goal of the second period at 62:04 that just reached over redshirt senior keeper Maren Eves-William's hands.

Sophomore Lauren Ryan continues as the lead scorer for the Bengals as she posted her fourth goal of the season off a pass from senior Quigley. Quigley earned three points during the game and posted four shots.

Idaho State saw a keeper change at the break when Maren Eves-Williams was having an off day and allowed five goals and zero saves. Sophomore Kathryn Ford continued at the keeper position and allowed one goal recording two saves over the second period.

Idaho State returns to action as they travel to Northern Arizona to compete on Sunday, October 19 at the Lumberjack Stadium.

Note: The Bengals continue to record the longest non-winning streak in Idaho State history with a total of 13 games, four of which were ties.
