Complete Weber State Box Score 
Pocatello, ID--The Bengals defended their home turf when the defeated Weber State in four sets (25-17, 22-25, 25-17, 25-23). The Bengals posted a season high .242 attack percentage for the match as well as an amazing season-high .625 percentage in the first set alone. The Bengals improve to 3-8 Big Sky conference record and are 6-17 for the season. Weber State falls to a 9-12 overall record and 5-6 in the conference.
Overall the Bengals dominated play and ended rallies quickly in their favor to defeat the Wildcats who posted a 3-1 victory at their home earlier in the season. Idaho State out blocked and out served the competition as the Bengals posted eight team blocks to Weber State's seven and ten service aces to the Wildcats eight. Three Bengals earned double-digit points for the team including junior Emily Waldron (13.5), freshman Jaclyn Hone (10.5) and senior Brenda Cooper (11). Junior Emily Waldron posted the match-high kills with 11 recording only four errors from 33 attacks for a .212 attack percentage. Waldron also posted two service aces and seven digs.
Freshman Hone scrambled all over the court digging up the seemingly impossible attacks to notch the match-high 15 kills. Hone also found success at the front lines as she posted eight kills and a block assists. However, it was an all around good performance by all the Bengals that contributed to the success such as Sarah Carson's consistent .429 attack percentage where she notched seven kills and only one errors from 14 attempts. Carson had five assists and posted three block assists for the Bengals. Paige Palmer posted 14 digs and recorded the game-high three service aces.
Idaho State dominated the first set where they made zero attack errors and 15 kills from 24 attempts for an impressive .625 attack percentage. Junior Emily Waldron had four kills and eight attacks for a .500 percentage in the first set alone. Even though Weber State posted 13 kills with only four errors from 35 attempts for a .257 percentage and there were six tied scores and four lead changes the Bengals controlled the pace of the set and conquered the play.
"It would be nice if we could play like that all the time," said head coach Chad Teichert about dominating the first set. "There are times when our setters and middles were connecting well and it makes such a difference for us when that's going on."
In the second set the Bengals had a 10-4 lead and let the Wildcats back into the set amassing fourteen points in the time the Bengals could post six more to keep the Bengals ahead 16-13. ISU recorded nearly half of their errors in the second set alone. Weber State took advantage of the opportunity to tie up the score at 20-20 and finish out the set.
The Bengals dug deep and posted another dominating set for the third mirroring their first set play and score of 25-17. Idaho State posted nine kills with five errors from 27 attempts for a .148 attack percentage and recorded 13 digs and three team blocks to neutralize the Wildcat offense who posted seven kills and nine errors from 31 attempts for a -.065 percentage.
Using their momentum the Bengals started off strong in the fourth set, but battled as the Wildcats would not go down without a fight. Through six tied scores and three lead changes the Bengals posted 13 kills with only five errors for a .216 attack percentage. The defense stood solid as it forced Weber State to hit around the tough defensive frontline block and deal with the back row dig consistency leaving Weber State with a .054 percentage filled with 12 kills and ten errors from 37 attempts.
Idaho State will return to the court on Halloween night, Friday, October 31 at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym against Seattle. Costumes are welcome or fans can wear pink to celebrate the last day of October which is the month dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The team has chosen to wear pink hair ribbons to show their support in the fight against breast cancer.
