Pocatello, ID--The Idaho State Bengals ended their Big Sky Conference opener on Davis Field Thursday afternoon with a 1-1 double overtime tie as a weak ball crossed which found the corner gave EWU's a place on the scoreboard. Idaho State posts an overall 2-7-4 record while Eastern Washington is 2-7-3 for the season.

The first goal of the game was scored by Lillian Bourett of Eastern Washington off a weak shot from just outside the midfield. Keeper Eves Williams, who posts a 0-2-2 record, stayed near the right post as she assumed the ball would harmlessly roll wide. Unfortunately for the Bengals, the ball did not contain enough spin and snuck into the bottom left corner at 31:49 in the first period. Eves-Williams did record three saves.

The momentum shifted from that point as the Bengals led an offensive charge, determined to post a goal. In all, the Bengals out shot Eastern Washington 26-8, with the most lopsided period coming from the second in which ISU had 12 shots to Eastern Washington's three. When they are bound and determined the Bengals pull through as sophomore Taylor Powell scored the game-tying goal with just 2:40 left in the second period.

Idaho State had three corner kicks in the second period, five overall, and as the clock was running down senior Kilee Quigley took her first corner kick of the season. Redshirt junior Jana Davis-Boehler got a head on the ball for Powell to connect and tie the game putting the Bengals into overtime. Powell had two shots during the game and both were on goal. Davis-Boehler posted the game-high five shots with one on goal, but made her mark as she was credited with an assist.

With the goal, Idaho State ended its longest non-scoring streak of the season with 356:40 with Powell's second goal of the season. Her first goal came in the season opener against Utah State. The Bengals have posted four tied games this season, three of which occurred at home on Davis Field.

Idaho State led the Big Sky Conference in fouls going into the match with 151 total fouls, nearly 13 every game. However, Eastern Washington who was second in the Conference for fouls with 141 wanted the title and easily bumped its rank to the number one spot as the Eagles out fouled ISU 18 to six giving EWU a two foul lead in the conference ranks.

The Bengals will return to action against Montana at the South Campus Stadium in Missoula at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Montana heads into competition 0-1-0 as it opened its Conference season against Weber State in Ogden.

Notes: Idaho State continues to add to the longest non-winning streak in ISU history with 10 games ... ISU posted the game-high for the season of shots with 28 in a game.
