The Bengals didn't settle and came back to take the second set posting 18 kills from 46 attacks and reducing Montana to just eight kills in the set. The third set included 10 tied scores and seven lead changes but Montana would avail as they would post 13 kills to ISU's 11 even though the Bengals out blocked the Griz 5-to-3 in the third. The battle ensued and with senior Blakely Peppinger to serve for the match at Whitney Hobs made a kill on the play. She followed her success with another kill to post a lead while UM's Brittany Quick would finish off the match.
