In a statistic you don't hear often, Idaho State was out-tipped by Weber State in the first set. The majority of the Wildcats kills were actually tips, but thanks to statistical software they count the same as kills. Weber State mixed the tips into their solid attacks to take the Bengals out of position which earned Weber State a 25-12 first set. The Wildcats posted 18 kills with only four errors from 38 attempts for a .368 attack percentage. Idaho State recorded only four kills.
Idaho State came back charging as they took an early lead but eventually fell to Weber State in an exciting 27-25 second set that contained 16 tied scores and six lead changes. Sophomore Britta Bartschi had a commanding performance in the second set as she hit four kills with zero errors from 10 attacks for a .400 percentage. Junior Emily Waldron also recorded four kills with only one effort from eight attacks for .375. Waldron earned the Bengals six points as she also recorded two service aces. Weber State returned to a true attack game that included only a single tip, to record 20 kills with only five errors for a .405 percentage.
The Bengals also took an early lead in the third set as they headed the set 12-8. Idaho State worked as a team as the blockers either stopped or slowed down the balls for the defensive specialists to return the ball to the front line. Idaho State maintained its lead throughout the set with only six tied scores and three lead changes. Waldron led the pack with five kills and Bartschi recorded three. Idaho State out hit the Wildcats with 15 kills and only five errors from 43 attacks for a .233 percentage with Weber hit a .174 from 13 kills and five errors with 46 attempts.
Weber State started the fourth set with an early lead and the Bengals could not find a rhythm to overtake the Wildcats as they trailed two to three points throughout the set.
