Pocatello, ID --- Idaho State University got a season-high 25-point effort from Amorrow Morgan and another double-double from the conference's leading rebounder in Demetrius Monroe as Idaho State picked up their first win of the season 77-60 over Colorado Christian in front of 1,649 fans at Reed Gym on Saturday afternoon.

Idaho State never trailed, and led by 11 at the break as the Bengals had their best shooting game of the season, hitting .510 for the game, including going 13-for-21 (.619) in the second half. The Bengal led by as many as16 in the first half and 19 in the game. Morgan was the star of the show, scoring 14 in the first half on a variety of spins, moves, and jumpers. Up 21-15 at just under eight minutes left in the first half, Morgan scored six straight points, and eight overall in a 10-0 ISU run that put the lead in double-figures.

Colorado Christian wouldn't go away however, and Justin Neuhaus was a big reason why, as he ended up with 23 points, including going 12-for-13 in the second half from the line. Neuhaus hit a pair of free throws to cut it to 47-41, and ISU tried to pull away, but the lead was still just eight with 6:22 left after a Tyler House three-pointer, but ISU eventually stretched the lead out. Mike Lacey hit a three-pointer for his first career points, and then Sherrod Baldwin followed with a layup to push the lead to 13, and it never got below double-figures again. It was as high as 19 after two Rolando Little free throws with 31.3 left, and a late layup finished the scoring.

Morgan's 25 points came on 8-of-14 shooting, and Monroe was a perfect from the field, going 5-for-5 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line, scoring 12 points and adding a season-high 12 rebounds as well. The only other Bengal in double-figures was Broderick Gilchrest, who added 16, 13 in the second half. Austin Kilpatrick drained three threes as well. The Bengals dominated the glass, outrebounding the Cougars 39-22, and ISU grabbed 12 offensive boards despite the solid shooting night.

For Colorado Christian, they got 23 from Neuhaus, 12 from Abram Ziemer and 10 from Jobi Wall as they shot just .362 from the field, and hit just 6-of-25 threes. They did move the ball well, assisting on 14 of their 17 baskets.

The Bengals travel to Utah State to take on the Aggies on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm at the Dee Glenn Smith Spectrum.

NOTES: Freshman Todd Starks entered the game in the first half, his first career action ... Kilpatrick added two blocks and now has five of ISU's eight this season ... ISU shot .385 from three-point range ... ISU never trailed ... ISU had 15 second chance points compared to four for the Cougars.
