Pocatello, ID --- Nominations are currently being sought for inductees into the ISU Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2009 by the ISU Alumni Association. The 2009 Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on October 17, 2009 during halftime at the Idaho State University home football game against the University of Northern Colorado Bears.
Last year the ISU Sports Hall of Fame inducted a star-studded class of seven: Jason Whitmer, Jim Lane, Holly Togiai, Alice Heberlein were all inducted, along with Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Dave Kragthorpe and Jim & Su Fox.
Fans wanted to nominate a deserving former student-athlete can download the nomination packet at the Hall of Fame's Official Webpage http://www.isu.edu/alumni/sportsfame.shtml. In order to be eligible for selection to the Hall, a candidate must have attended Idaho State for at least one year and excelled in at least one intercollegiate sport. Preference is given to those who have been out of school for at least 10 years. Voting is restricted to Hall of Fame members who are on the Selection Committee.
Nominations can be sent via e-mail to Rory Senna at sennrory@isu.edu, or by regular mail to 921 S. 8th Ave. Stop 8033, Pocatello, ID, 83209-8033. Nominations can also be delivered in-person to the Magnuson Alumni House at 554 S. 7th Street in Pocatello, on the corner of 7th Ave. and E. Halliday. Nominations cannot be faxed, and all material is due in the Alumni Relations office no later than Friday, March 27, 2009. Fans with questions can contact 208-282-3198.
