Las Vegas, NV-Idaho State's men's tennis team fell 7-0 to #65 UNLV at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon. Junior Javier Royo held his own at the number one spot taking UNLV's Eilliot Wronski to a tiebreaker in the first set. UNLV improved to 11-7 while Idaho State fell to 0-10 for the season.

Royo was neck-and-neck with Wronski taking him into a tiebreaker. Wronski overcame Royo in the tiebreaker and with momentum on his side posted a 6-3 decision in the second set. Royo also played well when he teamed up with Danel Barrenechea for doubles taking UNLV's #75 Luca Barlocchi and Wronski to an 8-6 decision at the number one spot. Barlocchi is ranked #75 in the nation in doubles. Freshman Dan Buckingham and junior David Kutchins fought hard but fell 8-4 to Mehdi Bouras and Wesley Burrows at the number three spot.

Sophomore Barrenechea made a comeback in the second set but was overcome 6-2, 6-3 by Bouras at the number two spot. Sophomore Alex Buceta fell 6-2, 6-0 to Burrows at the number three position. Buckingham performed steadily in his first match-up with UNLV falling 6-1, 6-2 to Nikolaj Wulff at the number five spot. Ross DeChant and Andres Mancero each took a game from their opponents Barlocchi and Matthew Kunkel respectively.

Idaho State's next match will occur at Reed Gym on Thursday, March 26 at 9:00 a.m. against Eastern Washington.
