Boise, ID-Idaho State men's tennis team fell in the first round of the Boise State Spring Break Tournament on Friday. The Bengals fell 4-0 to #23 Boise State indoors at the Boas Tennis Center in a championship style format, or first to four team points.
Against Boise State (12-7) the Bengals fell 8-1 at both the No. 1 and three doubles spots to go into singles play down 0-1. Freshman Dan Buckingham and junior David Kutchins were overcome by Stanley Sarapanich and Freddy Walsh at the third spot and junior Javier Royo and Danel Barrenechea were overcome by Keane Feeder and Erik Sheldon at the No. 1 spot.
Royo was overcome by #80 James Meredith 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot. Boise native, Buckingham dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Matt Solomon at the No. 5 position. Bronco Nick Gourley defeated junior Andres Mancero in the deciding match 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 spot. Idaho State fell to 0-12 for the season.
