Pocatello, ID --- Idaho State University's football coaching staff will host their 2009 High School Football Coaches Clinic on Saturday, April 11 on campus at the Lecture Center Building, starting with registration at 8:00 am and culminating with the ISU football team's first spring scrimmage at 4:00 pm.
The weekend will start with an optional Coaches Social on Friday, April 10th at 8:30 pm at the Ramada Hotel in Pocatello. At the social, there will be side rooms available with white boards for chalk talks and buzz sessions.
Rooms are also available for coaches on Friday night, and Alicia Ward (208-237-0020) is the Ramada contact, and coaches are asked to contact the Ramada by Wednesday night.
The clinic will take place at the Lecture Center Building near the practice field, with registration taking place from 8:00-9:00 am. The cost of the clinic is $10 per coach, and can be made by cash or check at the door. Lunch will be provided for all coaches, and for coaches interested, one credit hour is available for a $50 fee, and coaches can contact ISU coach Steve Amrine at 208-282-2704 with questions regarding the credit.
Speakers for the clinic include ISU head coach John Zamberlin, assistant coaches Joe Cullen (def. line), Brian Jensen (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks), and Brian Standley (defensive coordinator/defensive line), as well as ISU strength coach Mark Campbell. High School coaches that will also be speaking are Paul Peterson (head coach, Eagle), Matt Strong (head coach, Caldwell), Gino Mariani (head coach, Highland), Kenny Minor (head coach, Salmon), Nate Borchert (head coach, Century), Tom Harrison (head coach, Pocatello), Sid Gambles (def. coord., Jerome), Chris Frost (def. coord., Highland), and Tom Jewell (def. line, Highland).
