Blackfoot Tight End Josh Hill Transfers to Idaho State from Boise State

June 9, 2009

Pocatello, ID --- Josh Hill, the Blackfoot Morning News 4A/5A Player of the Year in 2007, he transferred to Idaho State from Boise State, announced head coach John Zamberlin. Hill, who redshirted with the Broncos last season, will be a redshirt freshman with four years remaining of eligibility.

Hill lettered in football, basketball, and baseball at Blackfoot High School, playing each sport for two years. He earned a slew of honors in football, including First Team All-State honors, All-Conference, and All-Area accolades from both the Blackfoot Morning News and the Idaho Falls Post Register. As a senior he scored 13 touchdowns on 47 receptions for 650 yards in helping the Broncos to the 4A state title in 2007. Hill scored the winning touchdown with 11 seconds left in a 41-38 win over Pocatello High School to send the Broncos to the title game, which they won against Nampa.

He also earned First Team All-High Country Conference in both baseball and basketball and he was a member of the BHS honor roll.

He joins a big crop of young tight ends. Tyler Hjelseth is a junior and the only one on the roster who has taken a snap at tight end, as both Jon Van Vliet and Bryant Ward redshirted last year. No incoming signees were slated at tight end, although positions can change during camp.
