POCATELLO, Idaho - Idaho State crushed NAIA Montana Western 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-12) at Reed Gym Tuesday night by hitting a .477 attack percentage for ISU's fourth best mark in program history. The Bengals were able to use the contest to experiment with several different line-ups including middle blocker Vanessa Muir's first career start.

"We wanted to focus on basics and try a couple of different possible line-ups," said Head Coach Chad Teichert. "I wanted to make sure Vanessa Muir played because she has worked so hard and is pretty good and she played well tonight. I also wanted to try Jaclyn Hone on the right side and Jennika (Wright) on the left side so those were a couple of things I wanted to do. I also wanted to play Katie Grajewski as the libero and we did that as well."

Muir took advantage of her time in the trenches posting a career-high eight kills while hitting a .538 attack percentage. Senior middle blocker Sarah Carson was unstoppable as she posted five kills from seven attacks in just one set for a match-high .714 attack percentage.

Senior Britta Bartschi-Rhodehouse posted a match-high 11 kills while hitting a .529 attack percentage. She also notched a match-high tying three blocks for the contest. Hone was two kills shy of a double-double with a match-high 12 digs.

Montana Western was held to a .107 attack percentage and just 25 kills, the second lowest opponent mark of the season. Idaho State improved to 11-9 for the season while Montana Western fell to 1-16 for the season. The victory snapped a three-match losing streak for the Bengals and improved their home record to 4-1.

Idaho State will host Big Sky rival Weber State on Saturday, October 16 at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym. Fans who wear a white t-shirt to "White Out Weber" can get into the game for $2. If fans bring their ISU vs. Weber State football ticket stub they can enter the volleyball match for free.
