POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Eastern Washington on Saturday evening at Reed Gym, losing 23-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-21. The Bengals are now 13-10 and 5-5 in Big Sky play.
“It wasn't a fun match tonight for me,” ISU coach Chad Teichert said. “After a big win you have to make sure you are ready to go the next day. We had to work real hard last night and it probably took some energy out of us. The match ups may have been different and it might have created some problems. But you have to come ready to play and I don't think we were, which was unfortunate.”
Jaclyn Hone lead Idaho State with 13 kills while Jennika Wright had 11. Sarah Carson had the best attacking percentage on the evening as she had seven kills and only one error.
“A couple of our kids that struggled tonight played real well last night,” Teichert said. “We need everybody playing well. I wish I knew the difference.”
Eastern Washington won the first set 25-23 before ISU came back to win the second 25-20. The Bengals dropped set three 25-16 and then lost 25-21 in the fourth set.
Idaho State travels to Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona next week before returning to Reed Gym on November 4 to host Texas Pan American.
