SEATTLE, Wash. - Idaho State dropped its first match against Seattle in a three set sweep (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) at the Connolly Center Saturday night moving the series to 2-1. The Bengals had a strenuous week of travel that sent ISU from Pocatello to Boise to Sacramento to Seattle. Idaho State fell to 10-9 while Seattle improved to 9-11 for the season.

"We didn't play worth a bean," said Head Coach Chad Teichert about the Bengal's performance. "I don't know if travel was too hard or what, but Seattle is getting better and better and they have some tall athletic girls."

Senior right side hitter Britta Bartschi-Rhodehouse posted 10 kills with three errors from 19 attacks to notch a .368 hitting percentage. Both Jenna Proose and Jaclyn Hone recorded a team-high eight digs.

"She had some good hits," said Teichert of Bartschi-Rhodehouse. "She has a real good arm, when she can put it to use. It was nice to have her performing well."

Seattle posted a .310 attack percentage and held ISU to a .096 attack percentage by out-blocking the Bengals 11-to-5. Seattle's Cristin Richards led the way with a match-high 17 kills and a match-high .615 attack percentage after recording a single error in 26 attempts.

Redhawk Jordan Keller was a major force in shutting down the Bengals' offensive effort as Keller recorded a match-high eight block assists.

"I think more of us not playing well," said Teichert of the loss. "We need to get back to the drawing board and push the kids to be fundamentally better."

Idaho State will welcome a four match upcoming home stand as ISU hosts Montana Western, Weber State, Portland State and Eastern Washington over the next two weeks. The Bengals will host Montana Western on Tuesday, October 12 at 7 p.m. at Reed Gym.

Note: Seattle was awarded a point in the third set when ISU was awarded a red card.
