Two Wins and the Bengals are In!

Idaho State will take their four-match winning streak into the most important weekend of the regular season

POCATELLO, Idaho --
Idaho State (17-11, 8-6 BSC) holds destiny in its own hands to advance to the Big Sky Conference Tournament if the Bengals sweep the final road games of the regular season at Montana State and Montana.  Several other one-win scenarios are possible for the Bengals as the season draws to a close with Idaho State, Sacramento State and Montana fighting it out for the No. 3 and 4 seeds into the four team tournament. 

BENGAL ACTION THIS WEEK
Idaho State plays at Montana State on Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in Shroyer Gym, then compete at Montana on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in the West Auxiliary Gym.  Live stats are available for both matches and web streaming can be found on BigSkyTV.

BENGALS ON THE HUNT FOR POST SEASON PLAY
Two Big Sky schools, Northern Colorado (13-2) and Portland State (13-2), have clinched spots in the postseason tournament, with Portland State hosting the event.  The Bengals are tied for third place with Sacramento State (8-6) in the Big Sky standings while Montana (7-7) is close on their heels.  Just two spots remain for post season berth and the finish is drawing near.  The last time Idaho State advanced to post season play was in 2005 under Head Coach Mike Welch where the Bengals fell in five sets to Montana State in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament.

HOW TO GET TO THE BIG SKY TOURNAMENT AS THE THIRD SEED

1) Two wins (MSU & UM) and ISU is in as the third seed!
2) ISU wins over MSU, UM loss to Weber State and SAC splits, ISU is the third seed!

GOING STREAKING...
The women's volleyball team is going streaking!!!  Streaking in victories that is... Idaho State is on a four-match win streak, its second four match win streak of the season.  The last time the Bengals had two four-match win streaks was in 2003 under Head Coach Mike Welch.  The last time ISU had a five-match win streak was in 1995 under Head Coach Bill MacLachlan to open the season.  ISU's last six-match win streak was in 1990 under Head Coach Jon Potter.  ISU's longest win streak was 17 matches in 1987 under Head Coach Jim Cherniss.  The Bengals captured the MWAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA tournament where their streak was ended.

BARTSCHI-RHODEHOUSE REACHES CAREER 1,000 POINTS
Senior middle blocker Britta Bartschi-Rhodehouse became the 15th Bengal in program history to reach 1,000 career points.  She accomplished her feat in ISU's five-set match at Northern Colorado recording 11 kills and posting three block assists.  She currently sits in 12th place with 1,046 points notching 863 kills, 64 service aces and 221 total blocks.

THOMPSON-BROCK KEEPS ROLLING
Senior outside hitter Haylee Thompson-Brock os on a five match double-figure kill streak.  Her longest streak of the season was seven consecutive matches.  She posted a career-high 23 kills at Brigham Young in a five set loss.

PROOST LEADS BENGALS DEFENSIVE EFFORTS
Senior libero Jenna Proost has posted seven double-figure dig matches in ISU's last eight contests.  Proost posted a career high 27 digs at Northern Colorado in five sets.

BENGAL STAND-OUTS
Haylee Thompson-Brock, a senior outside hitter, leads the Bengals with 3.53 kills per set in league action.  Junior Jaclyn Hone is the only Bengal to average over two kills (2.73) and three digs (3.04) per set in conference play.  Thompson-Brock leads the Bengals with 22 service aces for the season.  ISU's senior libero Jenna Proost averages 4.02 digs per set in Big Sky action.  Junior setter Karissa Legaux leads the Bengals averaging 9.81 assists per set.  Senior Sarah Carson leads the Bengals in front line defense averaging 0.95 blocks per set in conference play.  She has posted 52 blocks in league action, 90 over the season.

SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING  AGAINST THE BOBCATS

Idaho State has the chance to tie Montana State in the series with Montana State leading 30-29.  Idaho State is on a nine-match win streak over the Bobcats defeating Montana State in four sets on Oct. 2 at Reed Gym. 

SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING  AGAINST THE GRIZ

Montana leads the series 38-27 with Idaho State capturing the last meeting in four sets on Oct. 1 at Reed Gym.  ISU has one two of the last three meetings against the Lady Griz.
