Game Notes
POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State returns to the court for its second home game of the season with a contest against NAIA foe, Montana Tech, on Monday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. in Holt Arena. ISU leads the overall series 41-11, with the last meeting being a 63-55 victory on Dec. 28, 2009 in Holt Arena.
Before that ISU won 109-60 victory in the 2004-05 season. The two teams played yearly from 1926-1940. After 1940 the two teams never played until the 1994-95 season. Idaho State's last loss to Montana Tech was 23-21 in the 1937-38 season.
Montana Tech is 0-6 and led by the play of Kellen Hasquet's 12.33 points and 5.8 rebounds. Dirk Anderson is scoring 10 points a game. As a team Montana Tech is averaging 66.33 points a game and shooting 40 percent from the field.
Starting Strong
Deividas Busma is off to his best start in his Idaho State career. For the first time in his career he has scored in double figures in four-straight games. He is currently averaging 14.3 points and 8.5 rebounds a game while shooting 61 percent from the field.
Bengals in Home Openers
Idaho State has won seven straight home openers and 11 of its last 13. The 2005-06 meeting with Great Falls in Pocatello was also ISU's home opener. Idaho State's only home opening losses since the 1998-99 season came in 2003 when the Bengals lost 87-78 to Boise State. Then in 2000-01 ISU lost to Utah State 59-55.
The Week That Was
In Idaho State's only game of the week, the Bengals lost at South Dakota State on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Brookings, South Dakota. It was only the second meeting ever between the two schools.
Deividas Busma led ISU with 12 points and eight rebounds. The Bengals shot 37 percent from the field.
