Ogden, UT --- Weber State got a 21 point night from Nick Hansen on Senior Night against his hometown team, and Idaho State played without starting point guard Broderick Gilchrest, and that added up to an 89-64 win for the Wildcats that clinched the right to host the Big Sky Conference Tournament for the third time in four seasons.

Idaho State played without Broderick Gilchrest, who hurt his leg against Cal State Bakersfield on Monday night. He warmed up but head coach Joe O'Brien rested him as a precaution. That opened the door for walk-on Todd Starks off the bench, and after playing just 17 minutes all season, Starks came in and played 18 minutes, scoring 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Weber State took control early after ISU went up 9-7 with an 11-0 run, and they slowly and methodically built the lead up to 13 at the break at 42-29, and ISU never threatened afterwards. The Bengals got solid efforts from Amorrow Morgan, who had 17 points, and Austin Kilpatrick, who hit three threes and score 12 points. Demetrius Monroe also had 10 points and eight boards.

For Weber State, along with Hansen's 21, all on 7-of-11 from three, Steve Panos had 14, Kyle Bullinger had 12 and Lindsey Hughey had 10. Weber State shot .536 and outrebounded ISU 32-26.

While the score wasn't what the doctor ordered, the other scores around the league definitely benifited Idaho State, as Northern Arizona beat Eastern Washington in overtime, Northern Colorado held on to beat Portland State, and Montana beat Sacramento State. While ISU is tied with Eastern Washington at 4-10 for seventh place a game behind 5-9 Portland State, the Bengals' path to the conference tournament is pretty clear, but this much is certain...ISU's game with Portland State on Friday is a must-win for ISU.

If the Bengals beat Portland State, and Weber State sweeps Portland State and Eastern Washington, and Sacramento State loses once to either Northern Arizona or Northern Colorado and Idaho State would qualify as the sixth seed into the tournament, regardless of ISU's game against Eastern Washington. If Eastern Washington beats Weber State on Friday, ISU would have to sweep the weekend.

NOTES ... Northern Arizona clinched a playoff berth with their win ... Austin Kilpatrick and Franklin Session each earned a technical foul in the first half ... Starks, who is generously listed at six-feet tall, had a first half dunk.
