Eugene, OR --- Things looked pretty good for Idaho State when they opened game one by loading the bases with no one out. However, ISU couldn't get a run across, and it went downhill from there, as #25 Oregon handed ISU a 19-0 loss in game one, and then a 13-0 loss in game two.

The 19 runs allowed in game one were the most in the program's history, as ISU previously had lost 15-4 to #2 Arizona State in 2007. In game one, Idaho State opened the game with Taylor Marchione reaching after getting hit by a pitch, and then Desirae Hoffman and Megan Miller each singled, but ISU couldn't get a run across as Brittany Olsin, Erin Olander, and Jennifer Martensen all struck out swinging. From there, it went south.

Oregon scored twice in the first without the benefit of a hit, and then got five in the second, with a Sam Pappas grand slam highlighting the frame. Oregon tacked on eight in the third and four more in the fourth, an inning that saw a 47 minute rain delay.

In game two, the Ducks scored 12 earned runs in the first inning, the most run ever allowed against ISU pitching in a single inning, and it was academic from there. Pappas again struck with a home run in the inning, this one a three-run shot as Oregon threw a combined perfect game to defeat the Bengals 13-0.

The back-to-back shutouts pushed ISU's scoreless innings streak to 25 straight, including four straight shutouts.

The good news for the Bengals, who dropped to 4-15, is they get to turn the page quickly, as they travel to take on Oregon State for a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon starting at noon on Saturday.

NOTES: Desirae Hoffman had two hits in the opening game ... the Bengals committed a season-high four errors in game one ... The last time Idaho State was no hit was also at Howe field, losing 10-0 to the Ducks as Alicia Cook recorded a five-inning perfect game on March 24, 2007 ... Jessica Baca came off her suspension after game one and started game two.
