Pocatello, ID -- The Idaho State women's tennis team ended its season at Utah State with a 7-0 loss on Tuesday night. Freshman Amy Bettis advanced to a super ten-point tiebreaker before falling 6-2, 3-6, 12-10 to Abella Moncia at the No. 4 spot. Utah State ends its season with an 11-12 record while the Bengals ended their season 2-13, 1-7 in Big Sky play.
The Bengals dropped all three doubles contests to start the match down 0-1. Senior Sophie Dang and sophomore Rilee Moorhead fell to Hailey Swenson and Jaclyn West 8-6 at the No. 1 spot. Senior Lisel Lewis and sophomore Risa Fujiwara was overcome 8-3 by Kristina Voytsekhovich and Taylor Perry at the No. 2 position. Freshmen duo Rachel Ryan and Bettis fell 8-0 to Britney Watts and Abella Monica at the No. 3 spot.
Utah State's Swenson overcame Dang 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot while Bengal Lewis fell 6-0, 6-1 to West at the No. 2 spot. Moorhead had a tight match at the No. three spot before falling 7-5, 6-0 to Voytsekhovich. Ryan fell 6-1, 6-3 to Watts at the No. 6 spot while Fujiwara was forced to retire due to injury at the No. 5 spot.
