FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Three Bengals captured double-doubles in Idaho State's four set victory over Northern Arizona on the road Thursday afternoon.
Idaho State gave its best performance with a strong offensive effort hitting a .212 attack percentage and outblocking Northern Arizona 9-to-7 allowed the Bengals to overcome a strong Lumberjack team that opened the season with a 12-game winning streak. The Bengals held the 'Jacks to a .120 hitting percentage. NAU had 10 service errors.

Danielle Downs each recorded a double-double. Mendenhall posted 47 assists and 11 digs while Van Every had 11 kills and 10 digs. Downs notched 10 kills and 10 digs.
Freshman outside hitter Alydia Fields posted a match-high 14 kills while senior middle blocker
Vanessa Muir chipped in 10 kills. Muir and freshman Whitney Bartschi both recorded a team-high four block assists.

The Bengals took the first two sets 25-22 and 25-19. In the third set, The Bengals had five set points before the 'Jacks closed it out. Idaho State swept through Northern Arizona in the fourth set with a 5-0 streak and a 7-0 streak to win the set 25-13.
Idaho State improved to 10-8 overall and 4-3 in league play while Northern Arizona fell to 13-3 for the season and 4-3 in conference play. The Bengals broke NAU's undefeated home run dropping its record to 5-1 for the season.
The Bengals return to play against Northern Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. in Greeley.
