GREELEY, COLO. - Idaho State (11-8, 5-3 BSC) captured its first victory over Big Sky leader Northern Colorado (12-7, 6-2 BSC) in 29 years after its fifth five set match-up. The Bengals defeated the Bears 19-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-13.
The last victory Idaho State had over the Bears was a 2-1 contest in 1982. Idaho State improved to 2-13 in the series.
ISU had gone five sets in the last five meetings, three of those five set meetings were last season including Idaho State's first Big Sky tournament appearance since 2005.
Junior outside hitter
Breanne Van Every recorded a career-high 22 kills to push the Bengals to a sweep of its road contests following a 3-1 win over Northern Arizona.
Van Every's 22 kills, a match-high, came from a .302 attack percentage. She was one of three Bengals a dig shy of a double-double. However, senior middle blocker
Vanessa Muir had 10 kills and a career-high 10 blocks for her first career double-double. She posted seven block assists and a career-high three solo blocks.
Danielle Downs had 10 kills and nine digs while Lori Mendenhall had 43 assists and nine digs.

Katie Grajewski chipped in 13 digs.
Northern Colorado out-hit the Bengals with a .170 attack percentage while the Bengals hit a .141 attack percentage. Both teams notched seven service aces. Idaho State out-blocked Northern Colorado 13-to-10.
Idaho State returns home to host Eastern Washington on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym.
