Bradi Hutchison was named the Bengal Athlete of the Week for her second-place finish at the Big Sky Championships on Oct. 29. Hutchison ran the women's 5K in 17:43.52, the second fastest women's 5K on the Centennial Course.
Hutchison led the Bengals at every meet during the 2011 season. She won the Bengal Dual vs. Southern Utah, the Bengal Invitational, the Brigham Young Invitational and the Color Classic hosted by Southern Utah. At the dual vs. Southern Utah, she tied the 3K women's Centennial Course record with a time of 10:18.20. Hutchison placed in the top five at the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University. Prior to this season, Hutchison had never won a cross country meet.
This is Hutchison's second Bengal Athlete of the Week; her first was for the week of Oct. 10. Hutchison was also named Big Sky Player of the Week for cross country twice during the season.
Hutchison and the Idaho State cross country team will return for the NCAA Mountain Regional's hosted by Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah on Nov. 12. At last year's Regional, Hutchison placed 36th overall and the team place ninth.
