Jones Scores for Bengals at Northern Colorado

GREELEY, Colo. - Junior midfielder Ashley Jones scored her third goal in Idaho State's last two games off a header from a free kick by sophomore Allyson Stainbrook at the 86.44 mark.  Jones' goal was her third of the season and the 11th of her career.

The midfielder's 11th career goal is the ninth best career record at Idaho State.  Her scoring ability also gives her 29 points over her career to tie the 10th best career point record at Idaho State with Michelle Okumura.

Stainbrook's assist was her fourth of the season and fifth of her career.

Idaho State's goal came after a 2-0 lead by Northern Colorado.  The Bears scored 34 seconds after Idaho State's first goal of the game to hand Northern Colorado a 3-1 win at Jackson Stadium.

Northern Colorado improved to 5-6-2 for the season and 2-1-0 in league play while Idaho State fell to 3-9-1 for the season and 0-3-0 in Big Sky action.

Both teams had 19 shots while the Bears edged out the Bengals with on goal shots 9-to-5.  Sophomore keeper Carly Hutchings-Maloney had six saves during the game.

The Bengals return home to host Eastern Washington on Thursday, October 13 at 4 p.m. on the pitch of Davis Field.
