POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team dropped both games of the second day of the Fresno State Bayer Crop Science at Bulldog Diamond, losing to Drake 8-0 in six innings and 5-1 to Fresno State in the night cap. Idaho State is now 5-12.

"We didn't compete against Drake," Idaho State coach Julie Wright said. "I was very disappointed in our effort. We came out better against Fresno but the combination of walks, errors and our in ability to plate runners killed us."

The Bengal offense did not come up with a hit in the loss to Drake but did manage seven hits against the Bulldogs. Christina Rayner pitched a complete game against Drake, allowing seven hits but only three of the runs were earned as the Bengals committed five errors in the field.

Against Fresno State, Kandis Clesson took the loss, despite allowing only four hits, striking out seven and giving up only four earned runs. The Bengals committed three errors in the field. Idaho State scored its only run in the first inning on a home run from Brittany Olsin.

Against Drake, the Bengals trailed 4-0 after five innings but gave up four in the sixth to give Drake the victory.

Idaho State returns to the field on Saturday at 10 a.m. against Bradley and then plays Drake again at 12 p.m.
