BOZEMAN, Mont.- The Idaho State men's basketball team closed out the 2010-11 season on Wednesday evening at Montana State with a 84-68 loss at Worthington Arena. The Bengals end the season with a 9-20 record and 4-12 mark in the Big Sky. Montana State improved to 13-17 and 7-9 in conference play.
“Montana State is scoring the ball a lot better now than when we played them,” Idaho State coach Joe O'Brien said. “I have so much respect for how well MSU's three seniors can shoot the basketball. Brad (Huse) got his players back just in time to his credit.”
Broderick Gilchrest ended his Bengal career with 23 points while freshman
Andre Hatchett and
Deividas Busma each had 11 points.
The Bengals shot 42.9 percent from the field while Montana State shot 56.9 percent. The Bengals were out rebounded 33-28. Hatchett grabbed a team-best six.
The Bengals had a brief lead in the first minute of the game but never led after that and fell behind by as many as 25 points.
Montana's three seniors of Bobby Howard, Danny Peipoli and Erik Rush combined to score 62 of the 84 points.
