POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team closes out its 2011 home season this Saturday and Sunday against Seattle U. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 12 p.m. while Sunday's games start at 11 a.m. All games are played at Capell Park.

Five Bengals will play their final home game this weekend. Kandis Clesson, Brittany Olsin, Jessica Baca, Erin Olander and Haylee Thompson-Brock will all be honored before the start of the second game on Sunday.

Former Idaho State star pitcher Tammy Sorenson will be honored prior to the start of Saturday's doubleheader. Sorenson played softball at ISU from 1979-82 and was inducted into the Idaho State Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. She ranks one or two in seven different career pitching records while posting an era of under one in three of her four years.

Idaho State leads the overall series 6-3, with the Bengals winning the last three meetings, including an 8-0 win on opening weekend at Arizona State. Last year the two teams split a four-game series in Seattle.

Seattle is 9-29 and 5-7 in Pacific Coast Softball Conference play. Hannah Klein leads the team at the plate with a .327 batting average while Jessica Ulrich has pitched the most innings with 107.

Despite the 3-0 loss to Utah State on April 20, Amanda Fitzsimmons set the single-game Idaho State school record for strikeouts in a game with 10. In the the last four years several Bengal pitchers have recorded nine strikeouts, most recently Nora Maschue with nine in 2010.
