POCATELLO, Idaho – Idaho State's
Tavoy Moore was selected in the Kickoff Returner preseason watch list for the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) on Monday afternoon. He becomes one of three ISU football players selected as
A.J. Storms was named to the CFPA Linebackers watch list and
David Harrington was named to the Punters Watch List in the last month.
As a kickoff returner, Moore scored two touchdowns on kick returns last season. He became the first player in Big Sky history to return a kickoff and punt return back for a touchdown in the same game in two different contests. His first kickoff and punt return touchdown game was against Northern Colorado where he set a school record for all-purpose yards with 318 with a 91-yard kickoff return touchdown and an 81-yard punt return touchdown.
Then, against Montana he broke his own record with 323 all-purpose yards, including a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown and an 84-yard punt return touchdown. At the end of the season he earned First Team All-Conference honors and was named first team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association as well as the AP All-American team. In addition, he was named to the third-team Sports Network All-American team.
As the 2011 season approaches the CFPA will release a preseason watch list each week until July 18 when they announce the Punt Returner watch list.
