BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State cross country travels to Orem, Utah to compete in the Brigham Young Invitational this Friday, Sept. 16 at the Cascade Golf Center. The meet begins at 6:00 p.m.
BENGAL WOMEN PREVIEW
At last week's Bengal Invitational, senior
Bradi Hutchison won her second straight meet of the season with a time of 10:23.70. She was trailed by sister
Kylie Hutchison in second with a time of 10:37.00.
Chloe Palakovich,
Cydney Jacobsen and
Audrey Urlacher also scored for the Bengals.
BENGAL MEN PREVIEW
Senior Keane Schuler competed in his first race for Idaho State; he ran at the dual meet with Southern Utah unattached. He placed second with a time of 19:21.90 at the Bengal Invitational. Bryce Jenkins placed fourth with a 19:32.00; he shaved 10 seconds off his time from the previous week.
BENGAL MEN STAND OUTS
Freshmen Nicasio Westland and KC Hunsiker have shown promise in the first two weeks. Both have scored at both of Idaho State's meets. Eric Stand and Nicasio Westland each made five second improvements on last week's times.
BENGAL COACHING STAFF
Coach
Brian Janssen enters his 27th season at Idaho State. Last year, he coached Erica Wendt-Richardson who became the first Bengal woman to win a Big Sky Women's Cross Country Championship. His 2010 women's team placed third at the Big Sky championships. Parker Cowles will be starting his second season as the assistant coach at ISU. Prior to Idaho State, he ran cross country and track and field for the Air Force Academy.
BENGALS HOST 2011 BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIP
The Bengals host the 2011 Big Sky Cross Country Championships on October 29 at the Centennial Course in Pocatello. This will be the second time Idaho State has hosted and the first time since 2002.
