POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State returns to the road for a contest on Thursday, Feb. 2 at Montana State. Tip off is at 7 p.m. and the game can be heard live on 930 AM with
Jerry Miller calling the action. The Bobcats are currently in third place in the Big Sky Conference at 5-3 while Idaho State is in fourth at 5-4. Following Thursday's game the Bengals play at Montana on Monday, Feb. 6.
Montana State leads the series 101-79. The two teams split the series last year with ISU winning 50-45 in Pocatello and losing 84-68 in Bozeman. The Bengals last win at Montana State was a 63-56 win on Feb. 19, 2009. Montana State defeated Idaho State 73-69 in Pocatello back on Jan. 5.
Montana State is 11-9 and in third place in the Big Sky Conference with a 6-3 mark. Xavier Blount leads MSU in scoring at 11.9 points a game overall while Christian Moon is scoring 10.9 points. Montana State is scoring 71.6 points a game and shooting .433 percent from the field.
Bengals Play at Pacific
Idaho State plays at Pacific on Saturday, Feb. 18, in the annual Bracketbuster game. Tipoff is at 4 p.m. mountain time and this will be the ninth meeting between the two schools. ISU leads the series 5-3 but the two teams have not played since Nov. 30, 1996, an 81-70 win in Pocatello.

Idaho State's 99-94 double overtime win over Northern Colorado was the first double overtime game played since losing at home to Weber State in triple-overtime on Jan. 26, 2010 and it was the first double-overtime win since beating Eastern Washington 91-90 in Pocatello on Feb. 28, 2004. The Bengals have played six double-overtime games since the 2003-04 season and they are 2-4. The Bengals made 14 3-pointers in the win, the most since hitting 15 vs. Montana Tech on Dec. 1, 2004. The 99 points was the most points scored in a game since a 107-106 loss to Sacramento State on Jan. 12, 2006. The win gave the Bengals the season sweep over Northern Colorado as it beat the Bears 57-55 in Greeley. It is the first time the Bengals have swept a conference opponent since sweeping Northern Arizona and Montana State in the 2008-09 season.
Recapping The Win Over Weber State
Idaho State snapped a seven-game losing streak vs. the Wildcats thanks to a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by
Kenny McGowen. It was the first win over Weber State since a 63-59 win in Pocatello on Feb. 2, 2008. Idaho State has now won three straight games for the first time since the 2008-2009 season when the Bengals beat Sacramento State 74-39 (Feb. 26, 2009), NAU 71-49 (Feb. 28, 2009) and Northern Colorado 67-60 (March 7, 2009).
The Do it All Player
Chase Grabau has been a leader for the Bengals on and off the court this year and since the start of conference play he has risen his play to another level. Grabau leads ISU in scoring at 13.4 points a game and in conference play that scoring average increases to 18.7. He is also playing 38 minutes a game, shooting .602 percent from the field, .848 from the free throw line and averaging 5.6 rebounds a game in Big Sky play. On the year is has 77 assists to 41 turnovers and leads the team in steals with 38. Overall he is shooting .545 from the floor.
