Bengals Defeat North Dakota 3-0

Idaho State downed UND in straight sets Thursday night

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Idaho State volleyball team (17-5, 11-2 BSC) defeated North Dakota (11-13, 6-7 BSC) in straight sets Thursday evening in Grand Forks, N.D. The Bengals won the first set 25-19 before taking the second set 27-25. ISU won the third set 25-22.
 
Sophomore middle blocker Whitney Bartschi and senior outside hitter Breanne Van Every led ISU offensively with each recording nine kills. Bartschi's nine kills came off just 19 total attempts for a team-high .421 hitting percentage. Junior setter Lori Mendenhall led the Bengals with 34 assists.
 
Defensively, redshirt sophomore Kylee Searle led Idaho State with 16 digs while redshirt senior Jaclyn Hone-Hawkins head a team-high six blocks.
 
Idaho State out-blocked UND 9-5 and ISU recorded a .252 hitting percentage to UND's .154.
 
The Bengals hit the court again Saturday, Oct. 27 in Greeley, Colo., as ISU faces Northern Colorado at 7 p.m.
