Bengals Fall to Wildcats in Ogden

Idaho State lost to Weber State 1-0 Saturday afternoon

OGDEN, Utah – The Bengal soccer team fell to Weber State 1-0 Saturday afternoon in Ogden, Utah. The loss moves Idaho State to 7-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in Big Sky play while the Wildcats improve to 5-9 overall and 3-2 in conference action.
 
Idaho State posted seven shots on goal during the contest led by sophomore forward Amanda Ellsworth and senior defender Alishia Cairl with both players recording two. Junior defender Allyson Stainbrook, senior forward Rachel Strawn and sophomore midfielder Alyssa Kenney all recorded one shot on goal in today's contest.
 
The score was tied 0-0 at the half as the Bengals held Weber State to just three shots in the first half with just three shots on goal for the entire game.
 
Weber State's goal came in the 75th minute of the contest on a through ball on a free kick. WSU's Mackenzie Harrison scored her fourth goal of the season, assisted by Brecken Holbrook.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Sheridan Hapic posted two saves with one goal allowed in 90 minutes of play today while WSU's goalie Ryann Waldman posted seven saves in her shut out performance.
 
Idaho State will continue to play on the road with two upcoming games against Portland State and Sacramento State next week. The Bengals face PSU Friday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. and Sacramento State at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.
