POCATELLO, Idaho- Idaho State returns to the court following a short Christmas break for its final nonconference road game when it plays Washington State in Kennewick, Wash. Washington State leads the overall series 5-1. The Bengals only victory came in the 1983-84 season when ISU won 91-76 in Pocatello. The last meeting between the two schools came on Dec. 2, 2008 in Pullman when WSU won 60-41.
Idaho State opened up conference play last week, losing 63-49 at Portland State and 57-54 at Eastern Washington.
Melvin Morgan averaged 15.5 points a game to lead the ISU offense and
Ayibakuro Preh averaged a team-best seven rebounds a game in the two conference games. Idaho State averaged 51.5 points a game and shot .419 percent from the field. The Bengal defense gave up 60 points a game.

Tomas Sanchez is 11th in the nation in free throw percentage as he has made 27 of his 29 free throw attempts. He is shooting .931 percent from the line.

The Idaho State defense ranks first in scoring defense, allowing 60.3 points a game. The Bengals rank third in steals (7.0), fifth in blocks (3.7), and sixth in field goal percentage defense at .434. The ISU offense ranks 11th in scoring at 50 points a game, seventh in free throw percentage at .682 and 11th in field goal percentage at .386, 11th in assists at 10 a game and 11th in 3-point field goal percentage at .266 percent.

Ayibakuro Preh is ninth in blocks at 1.3 and
Neveij Walters is 10th in blocks at 1.1 a game.

Idaho State has lost 19 straight games to Pac 12 opponents. The last time a Bengal team beat a
Pac 12 program was in the 1986-87 season when ISU won 62-57 at Oregon.
Morgan on the Offensive
Melvin Morgan has been the team leader offensively in 2012-13 as he leads the team in scoring at 13.1 points a game. He had a season-high 19 points in the season-opener at Utah State. He leads the team in rebounding at 4.5 a game, up from his 2.3 average last season. He has scored 131 points this season and had scored in double figures in eight of the 10 games. He had his first career double-double in the 70-52 win over Montana Western and he has attempted nine shots or more in each game this year. In his career he has scored 498 career points and is shooting .768 percent from the free throw line as a Bengal. Morgan is averaging 15.5 points a game in Big Sky Conference games this year.
