POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 87-35 to the University of Oregon in Euguene, Oreg., at Matthew Knight Arena. The Bengals dropped to 1-6 and Oregon improved to 8-1.
Melvin Morgan led Idaho State with 11 points while
Tomas Sanchez had seven points and six rebounds and
Andre Hatchett added seven points.
Nnamdi Ezenwa had six rebounds for the Bengals.
Idaho State shot 27.9 percent from the field (12-for-43) and Oregon shot 52.5 percent (32-for-61). Idaho State was out rebounded 47-19 and Oregon had 19 assists to only six for the Bengals.
Idaho State held a 5-4 lead three minutes into the game after a
Chris Hansen 3-pointer. The Ducks then went on a 22-1 run to lead 26-6 with 9:37 left until halftime. Oregon led 54-16 at the break.
Idaho State returns to the court on Dec. 13 for a contest at Cal State Fullerton. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. mountain time.
