POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team dropped two games on Saturday at the Louisville Slugger Classic in Las Vegas. The Bengals lost 8-4 to Texas Tech and 14-0 to Hawai'i.
Against Texas Tech, Idaho State fell behind 5-0 after two innings before scoring four runs in the top of the third inning.
Vicky Galasso had a three-run homerun and
Hailey Breakwell had an RBI single to spark ISU.
The scoring started when
Shaundee Garrett reached base on a single with one out and
Amanda Fitzsimmons followed with a fielder's choice. After Becky Simonsen reached base on an infield single, Breakwell drove home Fitzsimmons for the first run of the game. Galasso then followed with her three-run homerun over center field.
Breakwell,
Courtney Hancock and Garrett all had two hits in the game. The Bengals had their four runs on eight hits but committed three errors in the field while Texas Tech scored its eight runs on nine hits and one error.
Idaho State returns to the field on Sunday for the final two games of the Louisville Slugger Classic against Ohio State and San Jose State.
