POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State softball team returns to the field on Tuesday, March 20 at 6 p.m. for a contest at BYU. The game will be broadcast live on BYUTV.
BYU leads the series 9-2. Idaho State won the first-ever meetings between the two schools, winning 9-2 in Pocatello on March 12, 1983 and 6-5 on April 30, 1983. Last year ISU lost 2-0 in Provo on April 26, 2011. Later in the year BYU will make its first trip to Pocatello since 1983 on April 9.
BYU is 15-8 and hitting .295 as a team. Delaney Willard is batting .493 with seven homeruns and 30 RBIs while Stacie Toney is hitting .397 with two homeruns and 18 RBIs. The Cougar pitching staff has a combined 3.13 era.
Freshman Galasso Leading Bengals Offensively

Vicky Galasso leads the Bengals offensive attack with a .343 batting average. She has three homeruns and 17 RBIs. She has a team-best five multiple hit and multiple RBI games. She has recorded a hit in seven of the last eight games.
Miller Ranch Stadium Opens Next Week
The Idaho State softball team finally has their own on campus softball facility. Miller Ranch Stadium will be open for play on March 29 when the Bengals host Utah at 4 p.m. The official opening ceromonies for the field will be March 31 at 12 p.m. when the Bengals take on Seattle in Pacific Coast Softball Conference play.
Wright Inks 5 in Early Signing Period

Julie Wright has announced the addition of five recruits in the November early signing period. These recruits will join the team for the 2013 season. Joining the Bengals next year are three players from California in Katelyn Marquez (Signal Hills, Calif.), Bailey Foster (Valencia, Calif.), Maddy Hickman (Hunington Beach, Calif.), one player from Kansas in Micheala Taylor and one player from Meridian, Idaho in Michaela Barr.
“Our 2012 class is a group that will bring depth and excitement to our team,” Wright said. “They have great ability in both the classroom and on the softball field. We cannot wait for them to get here.”

- The nine runs Idaho State scored in the seventh inning against Bradley on Feb. 10 is the most runs any PCSC team has scored in an inning this year.
- Becky Simonsen's nine-game hitting streak she had earlier in the year is the fifth longest hitting streak this season in the PCSC.
