POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State football team opens the 2012 season on the road against Mountain West Conference foe Air Force at Falcon Stadium. This is only the third time the Bengals have played a team from the Mountain West Conference. The previous two meetings was a 54-10 loss at UNLV on Sept. 2, 2006 and a 38-21 loss at San Diego State on Sept. 4, 2004. The Bengals are 8-7 in the last 15 years in season-openers and 10-5 in home openers. All seven losses have comes against FBS schools (Arizona State, Washington State, Boise State, UNLV, San Diego State, New Mexico and Utah State). ISU has won five of their last seven home openers. In 2011, ISU beat Western State 44-7 and in 2010 they defeated Montana Western 32-3.
BENGALS AGAINST FBS OPPONENTS
Idaho State plays at Air Force and Nebraska this year. The last time Idaho State defeated an FBS opponent was a 27-24 victory at Utah State in 2000. Since that victory, ISU is 0-16 against FBS teams.
BENGAL COACHES COMMITT TO IDAHO KIDS
This year's 2012 roster consists of 37 student-athletes from 18 different cities in Idaho. There are currently seven on the roster from Pocatello and Boise, five from Meridian, four from Idaho Falls and one from the cities of Fruitland, Nampa, Idaho City, Blackfoot, Declo, Salmon, Mountain Home, Lewiston, Twin Falls, Hailey, Dayton, Rupert and Aberdeen.

Mike Kramer's first-year as head coach, the Bengals made great improvements on and off the field. The Bengals went 2-9 and 1-7 in conference play. ISU had three All-Americans in
Rodrick Rumble,
A.J. Storms and
David Harrington. All three players also earned all-conference accolades. Rumble set the school and Big Sky record for receptions in a season with 112.
RETURNING CORE OF RECEIVERS
The returning receiving corp of
Rodrick Rumble,
Josh Hill,
Derek Graves and
Luke Austin combined to catch 238 of the 336 completions in 2011, good for 70.8 percent of the of the completions by the Bengal quarterbacks.
Anthony Boyles caught 31 passes last season but he has been moved to defensive back this year. Rumble led the attack by catching 112 passes for 1,348 yards and nine touchdowns.
Josh Hill had 48 receptions for 407 yards and one touchdown,
Derek Graves 43 receptions for 403 yards and two touchdowns and Luke Austion 35 receptions for 439 yards and two touchdowns.
