BENGAL OVERVIEW
Idaho State (1-2) volleyball competes at the Portland Nike Invitational this weekend. The Bengals face Portland Friday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. and UNLV at 5 p.m. that same day. Idaho State then takes on Tennessee State Saturday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m. Live stats are available at

ABOUT IDAHO STATE
The Bengals are 1-2 on the season after defeating UTEP at the El Paso Sports Commission Invitational. Redshirt freshman outside hitter
Tressa Lyman leads ISU with 40 kills and 3.64 kills per set. Junior setter Lori Mendenhall leads in assists with 108 and averages 9.82 assists per set. Mendenhall also leads in service aces with four. Senior outside hitter
Breanne Van Every leads the dig effort with 39 while redshirt senior outside hitter
Jaclyn Hone-Hawkins leads in blocks with 16.
LAST WEEK IN BENGAL VOLLEYBALL
Last week, ISU defeated UTEP at the El Paso Sports Commission Invitational 3-0. Idaho State lost to Arizona State 3-2 and Fresno State 3-0. At the tournament, senior outside hitter
Breanne Van Every posted two double-doubles. Against Arizona State she recorded 17 kills and 16 digs and posted 11 kills and 15 digs. Junior setter Lori Mendenhall posted two 40-plus assist performances at the tournament.
VAN EVERY NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

Breanne Van Every earned all-tournament honors at the El Paso Sports Commission Invitational hosted by UTEP this past weekend. Van Every led the Bengals, averaging 3.09 kills per set and 3.55 digs per set. She also tallied two service aces, three blocks and four assists.
This is the first all-tournament honor for Van Every this season. In 2011, Van Every was named to the all-tournament teams for the Utah State Tournament and UniWyo Cowgirl Classic.
ABOUT PORTLAND
Portland is 1-3 on the season and on a one-game losing streak after dropping a match to Utah 3-0 last Saturday. Autumn Wedan and Ariel Usher lead the Pilots in kills with 2.54 per set. Monica Jordan leads the assist effort with 4.54 per set while Jacky Rodriguez is the dig leader with 3.45 per set. Rachel Femling leads in blocks with 13.
SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING WITH PILOTS
ISU leads the series 4-0 and is on a four-game winning streak. The last meeting between the two programs was on Aug. 31, 2001 at the WestCoast Pocatello Hotel Labor Day Classic. ISU won the contest 3-0. Prior to the 2001 meeting, ISU and Portland had last met in 1988.
ABOUT UNLV
UNLV is 2-1 on the season and on a one-game losing streak after dropping a match to Northern Arizona 3-1 last Saturday. Madeline Westman leads the Rebels in kills with 3.90 kills per set and blocks with 16 on the season. Kinsey Caldwell leads in assists, averaging with 10.9 per set. Allison Davies leads the dig effort with 4.9 digs per set.
SERIES INFO AND LAST MEETING WITH REBELS
UNLV leads the series 3-2 while Idaho State is on a two-game win streak against the Rebels. The Bengals won the last meeting 3-2 at the Gonzaga Invitational on Sept. 19, 2003.
ABOUT TENNESSEE STATE
This is the first meeting between the two programs. Tennessee State is 3-1 on the season and on a three-match win streak. Tennessee State has defeated Alabama State (3-0), Southeastern (3-1) and Stetson University (3-1). Naomi Wells leads the Tigers in kills, averaging 4.27 per set. Erika Moss is the assist leader with 9.73 per set while Brita Hathorn leads in digs with 4.07 per set. Wells and Jordan Piper have posted seven service aces each and Linds Hornsby leads in blocks with six.
