POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State volleyball team split the opening day of a tournament hosted by the University of Portland. The Bengals beat UNLV in four sets, 25-21, 16-25, 25-18, 25-16 and lost to Portland in five sets, 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 12-15.
Breanne Van Every led the Bengals with 15 kills and Kylee Searle had 13 digs. The Bengals hit .254 for the match while UNLV hit .212.
In the loss to Portland, Van Every had 24 kills while
Tressa Lyman had 18 digs and 13 kills. ISU hit .216 while Portland had a .248 hitting percentage.
Idaho State plays Tennessee State on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the University of Portland.
