BENGAL OVERVIEW

Idaho State volleyball heads on the road for matches against Portland State and Eastern Washington this weekend. They take on Portland State Friday at 8 p.m. MST and Eastern Washington Saturday at 12 p.m. MST. The Bengals are coming off a 3-2 win against Weber State and a 3-0 win against Sacramento State.  

AGAINST WEBER STATE
Idaho State battled Weber State to five games on Wednesday. They took the first set 25-19 before dropping the next two, 25-20 and 25-23. They won the final two 25-19 and 15-8.

For the game, the Bengals posted a .201 attack percentage compared to  Weber State's .124. During the third set, Idaho State had a match-high .351 attack percentage. Idaho State was out-blocked 26-16.

AGAINST SACRAMENTO STATE
The Bengals continued their home win streak with a 3-0 win over Sacramento State on Saturday. The Bengals posted a .378 hitting percentage compared to Sacramento State's .241. In the third set, the Bengals posted a .556 hitting percentage with 17 kills on 27 attempts with only two errors.

The Bengals beat the Hornets 25-18, 25-23 in the second and 25-13 in the final set.

ABOUT PORTLAND STATE
Idaho State faces 9-9 (6-2 BSC) Portland State on Thursday at 8 p.m. in Portland, Ore. Portland State and Idaho State are tied for second in the conference, both with losses to Northern Arizona and North Dakota.

Last weekend, Portland State split their games with a 3-1 win over Northern Colorado and a 3-2 loss to undefeated North Dakota.

Portland State leads the conference in service aces with 96 aces in 62 sets for an average 1.55 per set. Junior Kasimira Clark leads the conference in digs with an average of 5.02 per set.

Portland State leads the Bengals 30-17 all-time. The Bengals loss their last meeting with the Vikings 3-1 on November 17, 2012.  

ABOUT EASTERN WASHINGTON    
Last weekend, Eastern Washington (6-13, 3-5 BSC) dropped matches against Northern Colorado and North Dakota. The Eagles sit seventh in the conference.

Against common opponents, Eastern Washington is 2-4. The Eagles topped Sacramento State in the first week of conference play and beat Montana State on Sept. 26. In addition to losses at Northern Colorado and North Dakota last weekend, they dropped matches against Montana and Northern Arizona.

Eastern Washington leads the all-time series 40-30. The Bengals dropped their last meeting 3-1 on November 15, 2012.

CHAD TEICHERT
With 50 career Big Sky wins, Head Coach Chad Teichert has set the Idaho State record for most Big Sky wins in program history. With 90 career wins, Teichert eyes 100 career wins before the end of the season.

JoAnn Garavaglia holds the record for most career wins with 110 from 1975-1980. The 2012 Bengals rank third all-time for most wins in the single season with 23, the record stands at 31 in 1987.

MAKENZIE FILER
Sophomore Makenzie Filer has broken the Idaho State record for single-season attack percentage with a .403 attack percentage. She's posted 146 kills on 288 attempts with 30 errors. She ranks second in the conference and first among Big Sky sophomores.

On Saturday against Sacramento State, Filer posted 14 kills on 20 attempts with a single error for an attack percentage of .650. In that game, she also posted two service aces, five digs and five blocks.

Against Weber State, Filer posted 10 kills on 23 attempts for an attack percentage of .348. She led the Bengals in blocks with six.

WHITNEY HARRINGTON
Junior Whitney Harrington led the Bengals against Weber State with 12 kills on 19 attempts. She posted a hitting percentage of .474 and posted four blocks.

LORI MENDENHALL-LEE
Senior Lori Mendenhall-Lee posted 41 assists against Weber State and 36 against Sacramento State.

On Saturday, Mendenhall-Lee also posted five kills and a .714 attack percentage, three service aces, five digs and two blocks. Mendenhall-Lee ranks second in the conference for assists per set with 10.79 per set.
