Idaho State Overtakes Montana State in Five Sets

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Idaho State volleyball battled Montana State to a five-set victory tonight in Bozeman. After dropping the first set 25-18, the Bengals came back top the Bobcats in the second (25-18) and third (25-19). Idaho State dropped the fourth 25-19 but won the deciding set 15-11.

Sophomore Tressa Lyman posted a double-double and led in kills with 17. She also posted 13 digs. Alydia Fields-Grimm followed her with 15 kills and .440 attack percentage. A block from Fields-Grimm and Sommer Reeder decided the match. Makenzie Filer and Marissa Todd also posted double-figure kills.

Lori Mendenhall-Lee posted a double-double with 57 assists and 12 digs as well as seven kills and a block. Kylee Sessions led in digs with 15.

As a team, the Bengals posted a .294 attack percentage compared to Montana State's .310. This is the second time Idaho State has topped Montana State. Earlier this season, the Bengals swept the Bobcats in Reed Gym.

Idaho State returns home this Wednesday, Nov. 13, to host Weber State. The match is set for 7 p.m.
