POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team lost 85-66 to the University of Washington on Saturday afternoon in front of a crowd 7,256 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle. The Bengals trailed 70-65 with 7:04 to play in the game but the Huskies went on a 15-1 run over the final seven minutes to put the game away.

"I was pleased with our effort and stick-to-itiveness," Idaho State coach Bill Evans said. "The guys were really focused and did a lot of good things. We hung in there and kept battling."

Washington shot 55.2 percent from the field while the Bengals shot 46.2 percent.  Four Bengals scored in double figures led by Tomas Sanchez and Jeffrey Solarin's 14 points. Andre Hatchett had 12 and Chris Hansen added 11.

The Bengals were outrebounded 31-21 and were led by six boards from Ayibakuro Preh and Solarin.

"We didn't do as good of a job rebounding the ball as we should have," Evans said.

Washington hit 10-of-21 3-pointers and ISU managed only two on 13 attempts.

The game was close throughout the first half as ISU led 19-18 with 11:33 left after a basket by Hatchett. The score was also tied at 21 a minute later.

UW then went on a 13-2 run to take a 34-23 lead with 6:52 remaining until the break.

"We couldn't get stops, especially in the first half," Evans said. "That perplexed me a bit."

Idaho State got within six at two different times late in the first period but the Huskies scored the final five points of the first half to lead 46-35 at halftime.

Washington never relinquished its lead in the second half. ISU trailed 70-58 with 10 minutes to play when it went on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 70-65. Washington countered with its game-clinching run to seal the win.

The Bengals are 3-4 and play the University of Idaho on Friday, December 20 at 7 p.m. at Century Link Arena in Boise. The game will be broadcast on Rock 102.5 and 930 CBS Sports Radio.
