POCATELLO, Idaho- The Idaho State men's basketball team takes to the court for the first time since November 23 when it hosts Carroll College on Friday, December 6 at 7 p.m. at ICCU Court in Holt Arena. Idaho State leads the series 6-0. The last meeting between the two schools came on Nov. 29, 2006 when ISU won 75-74.
Carroll College is 4-5 and plays Boise State on Dec. 5. Carroll College is coached by Dr. Carson Cunningham.
Bengals Ranked in the NCAA Statistics
As a team, ISU is ranked 22nd in 3-point field goal percentage at 42.6 percent, fourth in steals per game at 10.8 and fifth in fewest fouls. Individually, Christ Hansen ranks first in free throw percentage as he is a perfect 10-10. He is one of only four players who haven't missed a free throw. Hansen is 36th in 3-pointers made per game at 3.0 and 41st in 3-point field goal percentage at 46.2.
Evann Hall is ranked 16th in steals at 2.75 a game.
Best Start Since 2005-06
The 2-2 start is the best start for the Bengals since a 6-1 start by the 2005-06 team.
Career Nights at San Francisco
Three Bengals had career-nights in the 93-90 overtime win over San Francisco.
Chris Hansen had a career-high 33 points while
Tomas Sanchez had a career game with 24 points.
Andre Hatchett tied his career-high of 20 points but did have a career-best 12 rebounds.
Streaks Snapped at San Francisco
The win over San Francisco snapped a 22-game road non conference losing streak. Before the victory over the Dons the last road non conference win was a 68-65 victory at UMKC. The win also snapped a 13-game losing streak to nonconference Division I opponents. Prior to Monday, the last win over a non league Division I school was a 76-63 win at home vs. North Dakota. North Dakota joined the Big Sky Conference a year later.
Scoring Early and Often
Through the first four games the Idaho State men's basketball team is averaging 80.2 points a game. For the 2012-13 season the Bengals scored only 57 points a contest. The Bengals have scored 60 points or more in their first four games (99 vs. Evergreen, 60 at Arizona State, 93 at San Francisco and 69 at Bakersfield). Last year it took ISU six games to score more than 60 points (70-52 win over Montana Western). For the season ISU only scored 60 points or more in nine games in the 2012-13 season.
