LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Idaho State softball improved to 3-3 on the season with a win 9-6 over Nevada Friday morning. The win is ISU's second over the Wolf Pack this season as the Bengals defeated Nevada 5-4 last weekend.
Senior Tereh Blackwell went 2-4 in the contest, hitting a double in the first and a two-run homerun in the sixth, earning four RBIs in the contest. Freshman
Maddy Hickman went 4-4 in the game and had 3 RBIs. Blackwell's homerun was her first of the season.
Nevada jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the top of the first inning as the Wolf Pack's Sara Parson's hit a grand slam, bringing in Lauren Lastrapes, Erin Jones and Megan Sweet.
The Bengals answered back in the bottom of the first and scored three runs on a two-out rally as Blackwell hit a double to centerfield, scoring sophomore

Amanda Fitzsimmons and back-to-back singles from sophomore
Hailey Breakwell and Hickman brought Blackwell home.
Idaho State outscored Nevada 3-1 in the second inning to take a 6-5 lead. Fitzsimmons doubled to left field, scoring senior
Becky Molyneaux and Hickman singled up the middle to score Fitzsimmons and freshman
Katelyn Marquez.
Neither team scored in the third inning and Nevada scored one run in the fourth to tie the game 6-6.
Idaho State regained the lead 7-6 after the fifth inning when Hickman hit a double to left center to start the inning. Freshman
Michaela Barr pinch ran for Hickman and scored on a single through the right side by junior
Katee Wiley.
ISU added two runs in the sixth on a two-run homerun by Blackwell.
Nevada was unable to score in the top half of the seventh, ending the contest with a 9-6 final score in ISU's favor.
Idaho State faces Utah a 4:45 p.m. MST today and will take on Ohio Saturday at 12:15 p.m. MST and Oregon State at 4:45 p.m. MST.
