ISU Softball Falls to Ohio 7-4

Freshman Maddy Hickman went 2-3 in ISU's 7-4 loss to Ohio.

LAS VEGAS – Idaho State softball lost to Ohio 7-4 Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas, Nev., in the squad's first game of the second day of the Easton Desert Classic.
 
Freshman first basemen Maddy Hickman went 2-3 on the day with one RBI. Senior Becky Molyneaux, sophomore Vicky Galasoo and junior Katee Wiley also all had one RBI apiece.
 
The Bengals held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the third, but defensive errors allowed six runs for Ohio giving the Bobcats a 6-2 lead going into the fourth inning.


Idaho State narrowed Ohio's lead in the sixth inning, scoring two runs to Ohio's one and trailed the Bobcat's 7-4 going into the seventh inning. Wiley doubled to right field early in the sixth to bring home Gabby Lopez and Molyneaux singled up the middle to score Wiley.


ISU was unable to score in the seventh, leading to a 7-4 final in Ohio's favor.
