Bengals Battle in Five-Set Loss to Northern Arizona

Three Bengals finished the game with double-doubles

Senior Lori Mendenhall-Lee posted 53 assists, 13 digs and nine kills

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Bengals fell 3-2 in their Big Sky opener tonight at Northern Arizona. Idaho State lost their first set 26-24 before winning the second 25-18. They lost the third 26-24 and won the fourth 25-21. In the final set, the Bengals and the Lumberjacks battled until NAU came out on top 20-18. The score was tied 46 times throughout the five sets.

Senior Lori Mendenhall-Lee had her third double-double of the season with 53 assists and 13 digs. She narrowly missed a triple-double with nine kills. Alydia Fields-Grimm had her fourth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 17 digs. Tressa Lyman had her third double-double and led the Bengals in kills with 19 kills and 16 digs.

Sophomore Makenzie Filer led in blocks with nine total blocks as well as posting 13 kills. Junior Kylee Sessions led in digs with 20.

The Bengals had an overall attack percentage of .168 edging out the Lumberjacks .165.

The Bengals continue their road trip at Southern Utah on Saturday at 7 p.m.
