Bengals Fall 3-1 to North Dakota

Idaho State returns home next weekend to play Montana and Montana State

Box Score GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Bengals fell 3-1 against North Dakota tonight in Grand Forks. The Bengals record moves to 8-7, 2-2 in the Big Sky. North Dakota is also 8-7 overall but remain undefeated in the Big Sky.

"I thought the weekend was good," said Head Coach Chad Teichert. "I think we played well, just not consistently. It was fabulous to beat Northern Colorado in that fashion. We just couldn't get the job done against North Dakota."

Alydia Fields-Grimm led the Bengals in kills against North Dakota with 12 and also nine digs and service ace. Tressa Lyman and Makenzie Filer both posted double-figure kills against North Dakota with 11 each. Filer had a .321 hitting percentage as well as two blocks and two service aces.

Lori Mendenhall-Lee led the Bengals in assists with 42 and had five digs. Kylee Sessions led in digs with 13. Hayley Farrer also posted double-figure digs with 10.

Idaho State dropped their first set 25-20 before coming back to win the second 25-19. They lost the last two 25-20, 26-24. Overall, the Bengals had a .177 hitting percentage compared to North Dakota's .228. They were also outblocked 24-8.

The Bengals return home next weekend to face Montana State on Oct. 4 and Montana on Oct. 5. Both games start at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym.
